It looks like Cobra Kai has started running out of steam on Netflix, just shy of a month after debuting the first episodes of its sixth and final season.

The popular Karate Kid sequel series has seen its viewership decline every week, according to Netflix’s numbers, since the July 18 release of Season 6, Part 1. At the same time, the Top 10 TV chart that the streaming giant publishes every week shows that a new series has now rocketed to the top of the pile as Cobra Kai has waned. It’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, a six-episode drama based on Holly Jackson’s 2019 novel of the same name and featuring one of the stars of Netflix’s Wednesday — the plucky, impossible-to-dislike Emma Myers.

To learn more about some of this week’s other most-watched series, you can also go deeper by checking out our previous coverage of several of the Netflix originals on this list — including docuseries like the boy band-themed Dirty Pop as well as Simone Biles: Rising which chronicles the star gymnast’s triumphant return to the Olympics.

On the drama coverage front, you can also check out what we’ve done on newer shows like Supacell and The Decameron. For now, though, let’s focus on the biggest Netflix TV series in the world at the moment.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder — #1 on Netflix

Our previous coverage of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is available right here. In short, the show (which is a Top 10 Netflix series this week in 83 countries) stars Myers as 17-year-old protagonist named Pippa Fitz-Amobi who decides to investigate the murder of a high school student.

The story takes place five years after a shocking murder-suicide roiled the fictional UK town of Little Kilton, where basically everyone has something to hide — and Pippa wants to get to the bottom of it all.

“With the season’s multiple overlapping investigations, and its various twists, turns, and surprising reveals,” Netflix explains, “there’s no way Pip could know what she’s getting herself into when she teams up with Sal’s brother, Ravi (Zain Iqbal), to reopen the case that continues to haunt their sleepy English town. And yet, the 17-year-old sleuth won’t rest until she finds answers, for her school project and for herself.”

The show has been pretty well-received thus far, especially from critics who’ve given it an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. There are no guarantees, of course, but this one is almost certain to get a Season 2 renewal from Netflix, especially with the show also #1 in the US as of this writing in addition to holding the top spot globally.
