As the genre world returns its focus to San Diego next week, the Marvel Studios boss talks with Deadline’s Anthony D’Alessandro about big plans for Hall H; Disney’s R-rated tentpole starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman; and the resurgence of superhero pics. On the importance of theatrical, the exec says: “Of the many forms of entertainment that people can get scrolling on their screen in their pocket, we as a Hollywood industry need to make product that stands above all of that and that represents a destination entertainment that you can’t get anywhere else.”
