Cannes Talking Points From A Sizzling Lineup Featuring 10 English-Language Movies In Competition
The official selection for the 77th Cannes Film Festival was revealed Thursday, with 19 movies in Competition featuring a strong mix American films and starpower. The lineup includes Ali Abbasi’s ‘The Apprentice’, about the early life of Donald Trump; Andrea Arnold returning with ‘Bird’, starring Barry Keoghan, and Jacques Audiard’s latest ‘Emilia Perez’, a musical with Selena Gomez. They join Francis Coppola’s ‘Megalopolis’, Kevin Costner’s ‘Horizon’ and ‘Furiosa’ in what should be a splashy festival next month. Read Deadline’s full coverage.
