Ahhh! 🤩 just reached 50k stars on GitHub! When I started working on FastAPI, the most popular, huge, mainstream frameworks and tools I used and admired had 50k stars. 🧙 I didn't imagine FastAPI would get to this point and become one of the most used frameworks 🤯

Given the number of likes in this reply... here's a useless piece of information about me that some people found curious. 😅 Where does the nickname "tiangolo" come from? 😂
Quote Tweet
Replying to @kaybrian4 and @FastAPI
Hehehe, it's actually quite a boring story, it's just my family nickname. 😅 It's the end of "Sebas-tian" plus random stuff ("golo") that my family added for no reason (probably my sisters). Fun fact, many people in my family also call me just "tiango".

Enjoy those tiny (and often scarce) moments of feeling proud of yourself! 😎 I just built a very small script using Typer, and I enjoyed using Typer. 🙈🎉 Also, express "pro" CLI tip: * A function main() with type hints * from rich import print * typer.run(main)

That moment when you have to do boring taxes stuff... 😩 ...and you end up writing a Typer - Pandas program to generate the data you need ...because it feels safer and faster than dealing with spreadsheets and copy-paste by hand. Does that count as procrastination? 😅

Probably all the async things in Python that claim high performance (throughput), including , are just powered by this. 🌪 Uvloop is the secret ingredient underneath all this (e.g. powering Uvicorn). This is what makes Python a good alternative to NodeJS or Go. 🤓

uvloop 0.17 is here thanks to @fantix! ✅ Python 3.11 support ✅ Expose libuv's `uv_loop_t` pointer to make deeper and more low-level extensions possible ✅ Many bug fixes and improvements across the board github.com/MagicStack/uvl

Hmmm.. I was not watching uvloop releases 😔 As uvicorn doesn't pin the higher version, the new uvloop version is already supported.

Goodbye old friend Python 3.6! 👋 It allowed us to have things like FastAPI. 😁 But it's time to move on, it's no longer supported by . 🔥 And the internal build system now uses Hatch, thanks to the great work of . 🙇

Here's a really small release, FastAPI 0.84.0 🔖 No code changes, just dropping support for Python 3.6 🔥🎉

Are you using with Python 3.6? (first, why?! 😱) If there's something not working in the latest FastAPI version, let me know here now, this is probably the last version that will support Python 3.6. I hope you're on Python 3.7 or above! 🚀

New release to end the weekend, FastAPI 0.83.0 🎉 A couple of small features and bug fixes. Happy week! ☕ If for any reason you're still in Python 3.6 and there's something not working, let me know now. This is probably the last version supporting 3.6. fastapi.tiangolo.com/release-notes/

It's worth noting that the patches are for Python 3.7 and above. You should NOT be using Python 3.6 by now (by a long time ago). 🔥 It's also relieving to be able to talk about this vulnerability publicly after 2 years of keeping it secret... 😅😌🔒

TIL @FastAPI overtook Ruby on Rails this year on the Stack Overflow Developer Survey Luckily, *before today* our engineering team worked with @tiangolo and @starletdreaming to make sure Sentry supports FastAPI & Starlette developers 🤓 Check it out 👇 bit.ly/sentry-fastapi
