If I said- can I piggyback on this, would it be too much of a pun? I digress...anyone have a reliable recipe for an Irish sausage? I miss them so much I might attempt making them. Thank you.

Does anyone have a copy of 'Reliable guide to the curing of Cumberland hams & bacon and the preparation of the offal in the Cumberland style' by E. J. Jackson (1911)? I need to check something,

Heard a story I liked about my grandfather and gran uncle the other day. Made me smile.
One day while Daniel Patrick and Edmond Bonaventure Mooney were out having a pint, as was their occasional wont, they spotted a hearse leaving a nearby funeral home.

This is why we talk to our patients even when sedated. Why they get their hand held, hair sorted, music on. We look after people, not numbers. This is quite a thing to watch.

As proud sponsors of the An Post Irish Book Awards, we want to do something special for #APIBA and tell you a story.
However, we aren’t writers, but we know a few.
We’ll start: “When I opened my postbox today, I never expected to see…”
Over to you #ReadersWanted

‘THE END’ I typed. I stared at the computer screen. I’d given this story my all – secrets, love, revenge, a spaceship, even a tiger - but was it enough to win the An Post Irish Book Awards? I’d have to wait and see!
THE END
Thanks That was fun! #ReadersWanted #APIBA

Twitter is weird these days so, for no good reason, I thought I'd tell a story from my past.
Twenty years ago, we decided, for fun, to create the World Rock Paper Scissors Championship at a bar in Toronto. We thought a few friends would come. I sent out a press release.

Calling all chronically ill & #disabled writers: I'm looking for #books to include in issue 2 #CIADISH (out Jan), new & old (PR window for books too short so I'm ignoring 'new only' conventions). Also need #utopian poems, & event info: hybrid festivals/open mics/book launches etc twitter.com/BarrowMember/s…

Here’s a wee writing tip I’ve found useful. Take a novel you admire, open a doc & type the 1st line & last line of every chapter. Ponder them. You get a good idea of the range of ways to open & close a scene/chapter, & also how the end often loops back to link w the start…

Yes. Been trying to get this point across. The loss of Twitter, which at this point appears inevitable, will be a disaster for activism and a lot of marginalised groups

And while we are at it, in praise of connectedness, this tweet below. I dont know where else I would have posted this request for help and received such love from strangers.

I sent a tweet asking if anyone could recommend a cheap holiday for my friend with breast cancer. Could. Not. Believe. The Response. £5k cash (just giving page), offers of two holiday homes, advice from solicitors, so much love and care. Amazing.

This is true. once reminded me that social media is a force for good when you are part of a scattered, niche or marginalised tribe. Smug is never a good look.

“If Twitter stopped working, we’d just go back to reading books.” Twitter has given a voice to marginalised groups who are underrepresented in publishing. I have learned things from them I could not have learned from books.
