The recommendation is to set Cache-Control: private, no-store on any endpoint with sensitive information. Because while you can protect the traffic with TLS, you also need to keep sensitive information out of a client's (unencrypted) HTTP cache. Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage.
