Looking through the sound folder it seems there are many depreciated or redundant sound files in the folder that could be purged.
Notably a lot of docking sounds are duplicated, with some being combined soft and hard dock and others the separated soft and hard dock sounds.
I think its time to audit these to make sure we don't have old unnecessary files leaching the installation.

It can be necessary to pull out the instrument sampling rate from data. In principle this should be easy but data gaps, instrument turn on/off, etc. can potentially frustrate this determination.
