Hi 👋, I'm Samuel.

I write open-source software in my spare time to solve issues I face as a developer. Some of my projects are widely used and, I hope, make developers lives easier.

For example:

  1. Pydantic - pydantic allows you to validate data using type hints in python. It's used by organisations like: Microsoft, Facebook, AWS, Uber, NSA, IBM and thousands more - it has more than a million downloads a month.
  2. arq - a library to queue and execute tasks using python's asyncio and redis. It's easy to use and high performance with many advanced features. arq is used by amazing companies like Reach to power political campaigns
  3. python-devtools - the debug print command python never had - seriously this is the coolest thing I've ever written, it should be part of python but until it is you can get it with pip install devtools

... and many more.

All these projects are free to use and I try to answer every question asked about them, even though the number of requests keeps growing! 😮

Why Sponsor me?

There are more reasons than just kindness to sponsor me, the "return on investment" 💸 from paying me your hard-earned bucks every month will be amazing, I'll:

  1. keep it free: if I'm sponsored for the work I do, I won't need to make code closed source or add premium (aka "paid") features in the future
  2. keep free support: no one likes answering issues but whether you're a newbie or senior developer at a massive company, sometimes you need to ask a question and get a prompt, intelligent answer
  3. support the principle: open-source software has changed the world for the better, contributing to the open-source community financially will help that positive change continue
