Lil disclaimer: I do have a full time job (quite a cool one, too!) so donations here will be taken on behalf of the project you choose. I directly manage the funds and redirect them to the community and related initiatives, but I can't allocate more of my personal time to them :(

Funds are used to:

  • Push development, bug fixing (issue bounties, rewards)*
  • Keep the infrastructure alive and independent in case of sponsors decide to back off or limit our power
  • Promotional/celebrative swag (stickers, t shirts)*
  • Support hardware researchers*
  • Organize events*

Donations are aggregated to the ones we receive on OpenCollective and Patreon. Expenses are tracked in OpenCollective. * items are still WIP.

  • Spreading and promoting on socials the contents produced by the community

  • RGBDS - Rednex Game Boy Development System: the de-facto development toolkit for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color.
  • GB Archive,salvage repo. Archiving and mantaining historical copies of old documents and contributions to the scene. Mirroring and preserving lost content.
  • Homebrew Hub A showcase/archive of homebrews, patches, hackroms for old consoles. Everything is playable natively in the browser. Provides community submission, tagging and rating features. Hosts and serves ROMs and screenshots for each entry. Exposes a public API for emulators and related projects.
  • Awesome GBA expanding our efforts to Game Boy Advance

Everything is developed on public git repositories, accepting public feedback and contributions. We release code and datasets under Open Source licenses (GPL, MIT, Public Domain).
