Thank you for your interest in supporting the development of the Tenacity Audio Editor!
How are donations going to be used?
We currently plan to use donations for the following purposes:
- SourceHut expenses. They provide us with advanced CI/CD setups and a place to host our website.
- Domain costs.
- Renting VPS servers for testing our software and e-mail.
- Paying for macOS/Windows certificates (99 USD + ~69 USD yearly) later down the line.
- (Maybe) small "bounties" that will help us add very well-requested features, should we cover the majority of the aforementioned costs for a while. (1-2 years.)
Some other needs may arise over time (potential legal issues, real-life events), but all funds will be used for development-related purposes and the way we manage our funds will be, in any case, transparent.
Why should I trust you?
We have created an account on the Open Collective's platform for the Tenacity project. The Open Collective (registered as a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization) is our fiscal sponsor and allows us to receive donations, manage these said donations and be completely transparent about the way we do it. Keep in mind that the platform takes a 10% cut from all donations and that they are not tax-deductible.
Is there any other way that I can help?
Donations to individual developers
You may also want to support developers individually through GitHub Sponsors, LiberaPay and other platforms for their time and effort. The "Meet the team" section showcases only some of the people that help make Tenacity better, even though it's not conclusive.
Contributions
Another great to help us is by helping us deal with the load of work. Every contribution helps, even if it's not related to code!
Thank you to the entire community of users, donators and contributors that make the Tenacity Audio Editor possible.
Please note that upon the unlikely termination of the development of Tenacity, every effort will be made to return any unused funds to the donators or, failing that, the unused funds will be donated to another open source software project.
