About Corey

I'm passionate about tooling that pushes DX (Developer Experience) to new heights. DX is a common theme in my open source contributions. It is also a fundamental principle of my "people-based" philosophy of modern workplace excellence. I aim to make developer lives better while doing my part to advance technology. Over many years pursuing better DX, I've created hundreds of libraries, gists, utilities, and content.

Why Sponsor?

I've done all of this on my own time/dime. I have ideas to elevate these projects & communities well beyond where they are today, but there are costs associated and my time is limited.

Honesty/Transparency in Sponsorship:

If you've read this far, you are already familiar with the typical song and dance: more money means more time to focus. While that is true, my "stretch goals" are to hire help.

I make my living running a boutique tech consulting practice. It consumes alot of time, but pays the bills and employs a few exceptional engineers. In the past, I have hired new developers on a contract basis, reinvesting margins/proceeds by putting them to work on my open source projects. I've also had to let promising new engineers go because client projects ended, with no new engagements for less-experienced talent. This is a common industry problem and often demoralizing situation for these talented developers who otherwise flourish. I would prefer to continue mentoring eager people like this, giving the next generation of developers a chance to work on projects that matter.

I'd love to cover costs of some of the tooling and services I use to make and maintain projects. I'd particularly like to cover the cost of some VM's, CloudFlare Workers/KV, cloud services, and code signing certificates.
