    60 hours after liftoff Webb’s second mid-course correction burn began. It lasted 9 minutes and 27 seconds and is now complete. This burn is 1 of 3 planned course corrections to put the telescope precisely in orbit around L2. (illustration 👇)

    is an international partnership, led by , and is both a duty and a gift to humanity, designed to answer questions about the Universe and to make breakthrough discoveries: from the formation of stars & planets, to the birth of the first galaxies in the early Universe.

    Congratulations and all who made today’s launch of the James Webb telescope possible. Webb is a shining example of the power of what we can accomplish when we dream big. We've always known that this project would be a risky endeavor, but with big risk comes big rewards.
