It's always a good idea to work on documentation. I think it would also be good to restructure the README:
- Add a quick link section at the top of the readme (see https://github.com/sharkdp/bat)
- Extend the tutorial (rename "How to use"?)
- Move the "Parallel command execution" section inside the "How to use" section). See also: #605

It seems that --shell needs to be a single word -- which makes it impossible, amongst others, to test busybox sh or zsh --emulate sh or bash --posix.
Sure, for busybox you can symlink, and for zsh / bash, I suppose you can create a stub script (or small C wrapper) that exec's the real shell with prepended options. But of course that perturbs the measurement.
It might make sense
I currently have a very big hook, with dozens of useStates, lots of them have empty arrays which trigger unncesary re-renders. But I don't know which is the one doing it each time wdyr logs it's output. I get:
Re-rendered because of hook changes:
[hook useState result]
...diff
When would be very useful for me is:
Re-rendered because of hook changes:
[hook useState result]
I think it would be interesting to try and maintain some level of compatibility with xxd. I recently came across this when following a blog post, trying to use hexyl instead of xxd.
- The most obvious thing would be to introduce (yet another) alias for
--length/--bytes, i.e.-lin addition to-nand-c

Related with nunomaduro/phpinsights#23 will be a great idea to allow set all commands parameters from config/insights.php when is used with php artisan insights.
Maybe something like:
'parameters' => '--format=json -d memo-

Just came across this nice program, only to realize that it is missing many named colors:
$ pastel color red3
[pastel error]: Could not parse color 'red3'
Please see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X11_color_names and https://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/app/rgb/tree/rgb.txt .
The few clashing color names could be resolved by using a x11- prefix like in x11-gray.
