Example usage with GitLab's .gitlab-ci.yml

# PHP 7.3

  - vendor/bin/parallel-lint --exclude vendor --exclude _ide_helper.php .

  - vendor/bin/phpmd app/ text phpmd.xml
  - vendor/bin/phpcs --standard=psr2 app

# PHP 7.4

If you want to use the latest stable PHP version, just use :latest

  - vendor/bin/phpunit
  - vendor/bin/phpmd app/ text phpmd.xml
  - vendor/bin/phpcs --standard=psr2 app

Info

I believe there's easier ways to install the services separately but for now this works and we have full control over what it does.
