Scapy has promiscping(), which can be used for this.
The idea is that hosts which are monitoring the network probably have promiscuous mode on, but are not doing anything to be sneaky about it.
I'll have to think about what this info can be used for, although I'm pretty sure there would be some cool uses.
Currently there is no way how it is could be short argument put in relation with a long one.E.g.:
-h will be different argument from --help but in fact they should do the same. So -h should be alias for --help
