"We took the family out to see Stonehenge II, a quirky two-thirds-scale bit of art in the middle of nowhere, Texas. (To be fair, it was Ingram, Texas, which is a bit west of San Antonio). The kids posed next to a giant stone 'pi,' and then we headed off to get some shepherd's pie at a local eatery. We also had way too much fun singing along to "Pi, Pi, Mathematical Pi," which is definitely deserving of a Google search, if you've never heard it."

"With the leadership of the creative team of Mathematical Olympiad “Everest,“ the mathematical festival was held in Tbilisi for the fourth time, which celebrated Pi Day and the birthdays of Albert Einstein and Olympiad “Everest.” Project supporters and partners were the City Hall of Tbilisi Municipality and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. The Festival was opened by the founder of “Everest” and the National Teacher Prize finalist, Dachi Nanobashvili, and Global Teacher Prize finalist, Vladimer Apkhazava. About 50 schools and hundreds of pupils participated in the festival. This year’s festival was also different because, unlike other years, the festival was held in the two biggest cities of Georgia, Tbilisi and Kutaisi. The annual competition of remembering the most digits of the number pi was held again this year, and we received an unexpected result. Last year’s result, 589 digits, was improved by almost 2.5 times. This year’s record belongs to 13-year-old Mari Asanaia. She was able to remember 1,382 digits. The festival will be held in four major cities next year."

"As a part of Math Week, Pi-day is celebrated on March of 14 at Koç School in İstanbul. Here are some activities that the students did to celebrate the day with fun and creativity. Our lunch menu included favorite pi foods and delicious cookies in the shape of pi. We wore colorful pi hats and made a pi wall with word pictures that contain pi in them. We ate pi doughnuts (fundraising for Nesin Math Village) and joined the Pi Day challenge on NASA's website. We also 3D printed pi rings and drew pi using anamorphic-mirror art."
