    VS Code supports this by enabling the `window.autoDetectColorScheme` option. You can even choose which theme to use for Dark Mode and which to use for Light Mode 👌

    But we know that once a thumbnail is generated, there is no need to do that work again. We could use SSG to move this work to build time or we could use a service that is design to generate thumbnails at any size like . Now his website is 100% static html/css/js.

    This worked fine with very few amount of images, but over the years the number has grown. The script started timing out this weekend and the gallery wouldn’t load. The problem is that the script runs every time the page is visited.

    When he said he needed a portfolio of images, I thought PHP can solve this problem. I wrote a script that would resize images uploaded to folder via FTP to create thumbnails. The script responded with XML containing all the original file names and thumbnails (very Web 2.0 😎)
