    📦 We’ve released dm.​pl, the Perl script Theos uses to build debs, as a package on the Chariz repo. (Built with Theos and dm.​pl, of course. So meta.)

    With my latest changes in place, you can now use Theos to create Swift apps and tools on not only macOS, but also Linux, iOS, and WSL! To do this, simply install Theos by following , and then use the new application_swift or tool_swift template.

    Thanks to those that answered the survey. We’re considering whether to drop versions of Windows 10 earlier than Fall Creators Update due to the substantial improvements made to the Linux Subsystem in the past year. (Cygwin will still work on every Windows 10 version.)

    ⚙️ Patched iOS 11.2 SDK including private symbols has been added to theos/sdks, along with revised/fixed iOS 9.3 and 10.3 SDKs.

    A note that this doesn’t mean Theos will run on iOS 11 yet. Some packages Theos depends on such as Perl still need to be updated for 64-bit.

    🛠 Updates to the toolchain packages on Cydia have been released for 64-bit devices. (32-bit devices continue to have the old toolchain that works with up to iOS 9.3 SDK).

    📂 Logos and NIC have been separated out of Theos into their own repos. Mostly to make Theos a bit cleaner, but this means you could now include Logos as a Git submodule for use in a different build system such as Xcode.

    (This still requires some setup, as well as either the right entitlement on the binary being debugged, or a patched debugserver: . Bit complicated, but this being added to Theos should help you to experiment with this.)

    🔣 On macOS, Theos now generates debug symbols (.dSYM) files. That means resolved symbols will appear in lldb, Xcode, Instruments, etc., and Xcode’s debug tools can open to the exact line a crash occurred on!

    i added debug symbol (.dSYM) generation to theos (not pushed yet) and suddenly my life is 99999x better. while working on one project, i noticed code from another project running in another thread, and xcode opened up the exact line in the exact file it was on!

    🏃‍♂️ Fast Theos is fast. Parallel building support is to be merged in soon, so you can take advantage of all logical cores on your machine (not just one!).
