ROSES-2019
Only a few program elements are still open from last year's ROSES (2019) that was posted on March 14, 2019. SALMON-3 AO
The Third Stand Alone Missions of Opportunity Notice (SALMON-3 = NNH17ZDA004O) Announcement of Opportunity (AO) is an omnibus, meaning it hosts individual flight opportunities each with its own topic and due date. The Table of SALMON-3 PEA Due Dates has hypertext links to each program element appendix (PEA) in SALMON-3.
Future Solicitations
Earth Venture Mission-3 draft Announcement of Opportunity released
The SMD Earth Science Division has released a Earth Venture Mission-3 draft Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for PI-led science investigations to be launched within 5 years of initiation of formulation.
The AO Cost Cap for an EVM-3 mission is $190M in NASA Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 dollars, including launch but not including any contributions, and are expected to be managed as Class D missions. Launch Vehicle costs and procurement will be the responsibility of NASA. Launch vehicle standard services will be provided by a NASA Launch Service Provider; and the cost, pending the type of access to space, will be deducted from the PI-managed cost cap.
Proposals in response to this AO will be due 90 days after the formal release of the final text with a target selection date of early calendar year 2021. Mandatory Notices of Intent (NOI) will be required for this AO.
The comment period for the Draft EVM-3 AO ends at 11:59 pm Eastern Time on 20 May 2020.

Responses will be posted on the EVM-3 Acquisition Homepage at https://essp.larc.nasa.gov/EVM-3/. Anonymity of persons/institutions who submit comments will be preserved.

Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM) RFI
Response Date: May 11, 2020
NASA is soliciting input to in planning the development of investigations on the lunar surface to be delivered by the Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. This Request for Information (RFI), entitled "Payloads and Research Investigations on the Surface of the Moon (PRISM)", seeks information on investigation components from U. S. organizations that address science goals of the SMD as well as Strategic Knowledge Gaps of HEOMD, program goals of the SLPSRA division of HEOMD, and any technology demonstration goals of STMD that advance capabilities for science, exploration, or commercial development of and from the Moon.

Virtual Town Hall on Dual-Anonymous Peer Review
NASA Astrophysics Webinar: Dual-Anonymous Peer Review for ADAP-2020 April 2, 2020 1-2 pm ET
On April 2, 2020 at 1 pm Eastern Time, NASA’s Astrophysics Division will host a webinar to discuss the implementation of dual-anonymous peer review for the Astrophysics Data Analysis Program (ADAP) in ROSES-2020. In dual-anonymous peer review, not only are proposers unaware of the identity of reviewers, but the reviewers do not have explicit knowledge of the proposing teams and institutions during the scientific evaluation of the proposal.
The webinar will: (1) discuss the motivation for switching to dual-anonymous peer review, (2) describe how to write proposals that are compatible with dual-anonymous peer review, and (3) explain how dual-anonymous peer reviews work in ADAP.

2020 NASA International Space Apps Challenge
Apply to be a "Local Lead" to host a 2020 NASA International Space Apps Challenge hackathon in your area on October 2-4, 2020. A Local Lead is a person who organizes the event in a specific city or town. In 2019, 225 Local Leads hosted Space Apps events in 71 countries, and over 29,000 people registered to participate worldwide. The Local Lead Applications are due by June 15th, 2020 and are to be submitted via https://www.spaceappschallenge.org/apply-host/. Local Lead applicants may be affiliated with NASA, but that is not required.

Each year, Space Apps engages thousands of individuals in cities around the world to work with NASA's open source data in a 48-hour sprint. Teams of technologists, scientists, designers, entrepreneurs, artists, and others collaborate to answer some of the most pressing challenges on Earth and in space.
Funding for Citizen Science in ROSES
Citizen Science is a form of open collaboration in which individuals or organizations participate voluntarily in the scientific process in various ways (see policy document on citizen science). Unless otherwise noted in the program element, proposals submitted to any ROSES call may be entirely or partially citizen science-based and additional funding may be available for proposals incorporating citizen science. Citizen science projects shall be held to the same rigorous standards as any SMD science program.
