I just learned that the full Oscar Wilde quote about imitation is "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness." That last part... it matters.

You, a hack-ass TV writer: A good pilot clearly and cleanly establishes the premise and "why" of the series. Me, working on levels of genius unseen by the industry: HANNIBAL is the best pilot because there are six dogs on screen within the first 15 minutes.

Shoutout to every pro-wrestling writer covering WWE whose articles aren't an audition for a job with WWE.

I would say it's unconscionable of WWE to put its employees in a position to be detained by a brutal dictatorship that has literally murdered members of the media, but WWE doesn't recognize their wrestlers as employees, so that statement would only be 99% accurate.

I was walking through the market holding a bunch of cherry tomatoes and as I passed this older dude he said, "Hey, I eat those while I watch the internet!" and he guffawed while clapping me repeatedly on the arm and it was like being trapped in a dad singularity.

Sudden exposure to sexuality so wanton and unfiltered may cause you to recoil. Your instinct will be to stifle its power over you. Don’t. Embrace it. Absorb its potency and allow the raw sensual catharsis to elevate your consciousness and transform you into the New Horny.

To all those -ing: Have a great time! My advice: do your best with the word-count, but more importantly, TAKE JOY! Crack yourself up, break your own damn heart, dive headfirst into research rabbit holes, and let those neurons pop off like a fireworks-factory disaster

I just learned from Reddit that the framing for Luke Skywalker’s highest point of doubt/fear in Return of the Jedi is the exact same framing in The Last Jedi when he realizes his failure with Ben Solo. TLJ keeps giving.
