Welcome to the New Orleans Local. We proudly serve members working in Louisiana, home to jazz, jambalaya and, of course, Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest; and Mississippi, birthplace of the delta blues. Be sure to explore these pages for all the great services and benefits available to you. Laissez les bons temps rouler (“Let the good times roll”)!
Welcome to the Big Easy. Our local SAG-AFTRA membership includes performers and broadcasters who are committed to the highest standards of our industry. Producers continue to discover the diversity of locations, talent pool and services available to them in our area. The Green Book is one of several recent films to discover we are more than plantations and the Vieux Carre. The variety of locations available has permitted New Orleans to stand in for cities around the nation.
Now that the production tax incentive has stabilized for producers, the local film industry is thriving with television and new media production joining theatrical films. Claws, 24 Hours to Hell & Back, and Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger are TV series that have joined our long-time production NCIS: New Orleans, together with Queen of the South and Queen Sugar. While we remain a major hub for studio and independent film production, On Becoming a God in Central Florida is a recent example of new media series.
