    I’m getting sick with Google and Apple fighting over video codecs so I hacked together a new app using Xamarin and LibVLCSharp. It’s called DrasticTube: it plays Techmoan’s YouTube videos in 4K, and nothing else.

    dav1d 0.5.0 is now out! 0.5.0 brings 20-40% speed improvement on SSSE3 CPU, 12% on ARM64, and yet another extra 4-7% on AVX-2! dav1d is even faster than the new gav1 decoder on Android and iOS devices!

    VLC for iOS 3.3.2 is out: It re-adds auto-grouping in folders, adds simpler deletion for audio collections, force re-scan, and fixes numerous issues, notably for downloading, gestures and the new interface. Available on the store right now :

    Great to see such awesome results on so many CPUs on . That's a lot of hard work from the community paying off. definitely busting the myth that decoding is slow. Do members really need to wait for hardware decoders to deploy ?
