However, the office has yet to file charges in any of them. Many remain under review, but others have also been discarded because the allegations fall outside the statute of limitations.

‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Author Kevin Kwan Could Face Jail Time in Singapore for Draft-Dodging
Crazy Rich Asians” author Kevin Kwan is accused of dodging Singapore’s compulsory military service and could face up to three years in jail if convicted of draft-dodging.

“Mr. Kevin Kwan failed to register for National Service (Ns) in 1990, despite notices and letters sent to his overseas address. He also stayed overseas without a valid exit permit,” Singapore’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement. “Mr Kwan is therefore wanted for defaulting on his Ns obligations. In 1994, his application and subsequent appeal to renounce his Singapore citizenship without serving Ns were rejected. Mr Kwan has committed offences under the Enlistment Act, and is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment of up to three years upon conviction.”

A spokesperson for Kwan has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Box Office: Can Melissa McCarthy’s ‘Happytime Murders’ Fend Off ‘Crazy Rich Asians’?

Box Office: Can Melissa McCarthy’s ‘Happytime Murders’ Fend Off ‘Crazy Rich Asians’?
The box office has been surprisingly strong this August, and now it’s up to Melissa McCarthy and a gaggle of raunchy puppets to keep the momentum going.

That’s the hope, as “The Happytime Murders” aims for a mid-teens opening when the black comedy launches across 3,224 locations this weekend. Analysts are comparing the result to Seth Rogen’s bawdy R-rated animated comedy “Sausage Party.” Rogen’s film became a massive box office hit, picking up $140 million off a $19 million production budget. “The Happytime Murders,” however, carries double the price tag, at $40 million.

The Happytime Murders” is set in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles — a world where humans and puppets coexist — as McCarthy’s character, an Lapd detective, re-teams with her former puppet partner to solve a series of brutal murders. [Cue “SNL’s” Stefon voice] This movie has everything: Sex, offensive puppet jokes, murder, Melissa McCarthy snorting something through Twizzlers. At last, we

John Lithgow will play Roger Ailes, the Fox News chief who masterfully exploited the country’s political divisions to rise to the top of the cable news heap, in Annapurna’s upcoming drama about the sexual harassment scandal that ended his career.

The Tony and Emmy winner joins a cast of heavyweights that includes Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and Charlize Theron. The currently untitled film focuses on Ailes’ downfall, zeroing in on a group of female employees who bucked the culture of sexism at the network to oust the news baron from power. Kidman will play Gretchen Carlson, the Fox News anchor who sued Ailes for harassment in July 2016, and Charlize Theron will portray Megyn Kelly, a star at the network whose decision to go public with her own story of abuse was seen as a key turning point. Robbie’s character is said to be a fictional Fox News associate producer.

‘Yellowstone’ Is Paramount Network’s Most-Watched Show – Yes, Counting the Spike TV Years
Yellowstone is a national park. “Yellowstone” may be a national treasure — or at least, the drama series is to the new Paramount Network.

With its Season 1 finale looming on Wednesday, the first series developed by the rebranded cable channel has averaged 5.0 million total viewers each week, per Nielsen’s most current ratings, which counts seven days of delayed viewing where available. That makes it the second most-watched series on all of cable television, behind only AMC’s “Walking Dead.”

It also makes “Yellowstone” the channel’s most-watched series ever — and that includes the network’s Spike TV days. No wonder Paramount already renewed its prized pony.

In terms of ratings, “Yellowstone” has averaged a 1.42 among adults 18-49, which is the demographic most-coveted by advertisers.

Simon Cowell Humbled by Hollywood Star: ‘Fame Is the Best Thing in the World’
