A funny comment from the thread on Fark.com regarding the approaching hurricane Isabel:

went out of town during Andrew, first time my daughter was old enough to stay home alone (shut up, she was 15). I got a call on Saturday night, "Mom, I just wanted to let you know that I'm okay, and the tree didn't actually fall ON the house. Now that the firemen have let me come back inside and get the dogs, I'll be at Katie's house"....funny, I didn't leave her alone anymore.
