Wow.

So I finished the story arc of Final Fantasy XIII...

I finished around the 93 hour mark.

I don't think I've officially sobbed so hard at a video game ending before. Ever. I pretty much spent the entire final battle and cinematics in tears. In a way the final boss was a bit of a joke for me because of how insanely well leveled I was in both equipment and crystarium, but if anything I kind of needed that edge because.. well.. crying and lots of it.

You know, I had always wondered when we finally saw the outside of Cocoon looming over Gran Pulse if that's what Amano's artwork for the logo meant, and I was right. It's Vanille and Fang (along with the head of Ragnarok), cradling new Cocoon and her crystal shell.

And oh god when Serah and Dahj were walking out towards them. I just started to cry harder- Chocobo made the fastest bee-line for that kid his little wings and feet could and just.. just.. oh my god.

Oh. My. God.

Yeah that surmises it. Oh my god and BAAAWWWW and everything is so happy but also somewhat bittersweet but just.. gods. Beautiful.

Square-Enix? You're going to have a very hard time topping that, ever. I think that XIII has officially taken over from IX in my heart, and that's a big thing to have done since I felt very greatly in love with the characters and story from that all those years ago. All the characters are very loveable, and incredibly relatable I found, the battle system is amazing, and the entire story really immersed you in a way that I've never really had a Final Fantasy do to me. I mean VIII and IX had me pretty hardcore hooked, as did VI, but XIII made you feel for them.

Good game, Square-Enix. GG.
