Remixing Rose Hobart

Remixing Rose Hobart

Derek Long

This essay explores how videographic approaches might help to unearth latent meanings within Joseph Cornell’s collage film Rose Hobart. It was produced as part of the 2017 Scholarship in Sound and Image Workshop at Middlebury College. Thanks to the organizers and participants of that workshop, as well as its funding agency, the National Endowment for the Humanities' Office of Digital Humanities. And of course, thanks to the reclusive genius of Utopia Parkway himself for giving the world ROSE HOBART.

Published as part of [in]Transition, the Journal of Videographic Film and Moving Image Studies 5.1 (2018). For a curator's note and peer reviewer comments, see http://mediacommons.futureofthebook.org/intransition/2018/03/07/remixing-rose-hobart
