Thanks for pointing out that ts is "waiting for newline" - make a lot of sense. :-) However, at least one of the cases where the last line of output went missing had that output being created by an echo statement in the start script (and we didn't use -n on echo... ;-)). That aside, we were at some point indeed quite close to building our own ts+tee+rotatelogs all-in-one swiss army knife kind of tool, maybe we will
