  • shouldn't that file be created automatically, and it not being there is an indication that my purge, as well as reinstall didnt work !/ Commented May 4, 2011 at 12:06

    I suggest an integrity check. You can try debsums -s. This might point out if any of your packages are badly damaged. Commented May 4, 2011 at 13:48
