The Itchen Meadow House - Landscape Bringing the Vision Together Landscaping works are now underway at The Itchen Meadow House, marking a really important stage in the project as the house begins to settle naturally into its setting. With planting, external surfaces and softer landscape elements now coming through, the relationship between the restored Grade II listed farmhouse, contemporary extension and wider meadow landscape is becoming much more complete. The material choices have always been central to this project, helping the architecture feel grounded within the site rather than imposed upon it. Across the house, the final touches are now being progressed ahead of practical completion later this month. Projects like this rely heavily on strong personal relationships between architect, client, contractors and the wider team, particularly when working within sensitive historic settings. That close collaboration has allowed the original vision for the project to be carried through carefully on site, with real attention given to both the existing building and the newer interventions alongside it. We’re looking forward to sharing more of the completed project very soon. #OBArchitecture #Architecture #Heritage #ListedBuilding #LandscapeDesign #Construction #ContemporaryDesign #Craftsmanship #ResidentialArchitecture #RIBA OB Architecture - Jess Armstrong, Grant Freeman (RIBA), Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Olly Bray Main Contractor - RW Armstrong Structural Engineer - Marbas Group Limited M&E - RHB Partnership LLP Quantity Surveyors - Ridge and Partners LLP Landscaping - Daniel Young

Chelsea Townhouse - Prime Residential Remodelling Chelsea Townhouse is the comprehensive remodelling and refurbishment of a five-storey, four-bedroom period home in one of London’s most prestigious residential settings. OB Architecture led the design and delivery, reconfiguring the existing layout to create a highly functional and inviting family home. Carefully considered contemporary interventions improve flow, light, and connectivity, while remaining sensitive to the building’s historic character and conservation area context. A bespoke cantilevered stone staircase forms a central architectural feature, drawing natural light down through the house. The project reflects a strong collaboration between architect and contractor, bringing together design, detailing and delivery to deliver a complex high-value residential refurbishment in a prime London setting. With a focus on high-end refined finishes, and careful execution, the scheme demonstrates the importance of architectural clarity and construction precision throughout the process. #OBArchitecture #OB_London #Chelsea #SuperPrimeResidential #LondonArchitecture #ResidentialRefurbishment #ConservationArea #RIBA #UKArchitecture OB Architecture - Grant Freeman (RIBA), Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Olly Bray, Dan Pyzer-Knapp, Ross Galtress Client Team Katya Abbott OB Architecture PORTIA FOX DESIGN London Projects Ltd

Reviving a classic home in Hampshire Having lived in the property for many years, the clients have a strong connection to the original home and its setting. The approach was therefore not about replacing that character, or that home, but evolving it, carefully reworking the building to better suit contemporary living while retaining a sense of familiarity and permanence. Externally, the house has been completely re-rendered using a fully insulated render system with stone detailing, improving both performance and appearance. The language of the windows has also been updated to introduce a clearer, more contemporary rhythm across the elevations. Set within a substantial plot, the scale of the proposals responds directly to its setting, allowing the house to make fuller use of the site while remaining balanced within the landscape. The project is being delivered through a design-and-build route, with OB Architecture joining the wider team after RIBA Stage 4 to support on-site coordination and delivery alongside the contractor. A good example of how careful refurbishment and collaboration can completely renew an existing home, while still maintaining its connection to the people who know it best, our clients and the property custodians. #OBArchitecture #Architecture #ResidentialDesign #Refurbishment #DesignAndBuild #Construction #ContemporaryArchitecture #UKArchitecture #Detailing #RIBA OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Ross Galtress, Dan Pyzer-Knapp Contractor - A CLASS CONSTRUCTION SOUTHERN LIMITED

A Constrained Corner Plot Transformed to a Contemporary Landmark Solution. A thoughtful development of 41 affordable homes that demonstrates how a thoughtful design can deliver both architectural quality and social value. Set on a prominent corner site in South London, the development rises to five storeys beneath a distinctive undulating roofline, stepping down to meet the scale of adjacent two-storey houses. The form takes its inspiration from the surrounding gabled architecture, creating a silhouette that feels both contemporary and rooted in place. A considered palette of pale and buff-toned brickwork grounds the building in its suburban setting, with recessed balconies and full-height windows maximising natural light and views. At street level, private entrances, amenity spaces and a play area foster activity and neighbourhood connection, while a woodland-inspired landscape of ferns and grasses weaves between the buildings, enhancing pedestrian links and strengthening residents’ connection with nature The scheme shows that affordable housing does not need to compromise on design ambition, delivering homes that are durable, light-filled and bespoke, while making efficient use of a challenging site. At Foxley Lane, architecture, landscape and community come together to deliver a sustainable model of suburban density, proof that affordability and beauty can go hand in hand. #OB_London #OBArchitecture #construction #development #housing #affordablehousing #London #londonarchitects #architecture #planning #urbandesign OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Grant Freeman (RIBA), Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Ross Galtress, Dan Pyzer-Knapp Structures – Walsh - Structural, Civil & Geotechnical Engineers MEP – QuinnRoss - Sam Richardson Contractor – Vision Construct Ltd Planning – Andy Hollins, HOLLINS PLANNING LTD Sustainability – Watt Energy & Consulting Engineers Landscape – Strata Design Ltd Arboriculture – David Archer Associates 📸 olehrosypko.photography

Wentworth House - A Balanced Approach to Living and Landscape The property is designed around a clear idea, creating a home that feels both composed and relaxed, responding carefully to its setting within the estate. Upon arrival, the architecture takes on a more formal character. The front elevation is symmetrical and ordered, drawing on the language of the traditional English mansion to establish a strong, confident presence. Moving through the house, that formality begins to soften. Curved bays and generous glazing open up the internal spaces, bringing in natural light and creating a closer connection to the terraces and gardens beyond. Views are carefully framed, while still maintaining a sense of privacy across the site. The landscape plays an important role in this transition. More structured arrival spaces give way to looser, planted areas, allowing the house to extend naturally into its mature surroundings and support a more relaxed way of living day to day. With planning now secured, the project presents an opportunity to deliver a home that sits comfortably within its context, rooted in tradition, but shaped around contemporary living. #OBArchitecture, #OB_London, #OBMountain, #PrimeResidential #LuxuryHomes #WentworthEstate #Architecture #Design #HighEndResidential #UKArchitecture #Placemaking #Wentworth OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Ross Galtress, Dan Pyzer-Knapp For more details, contact: Knight Frank - Edward Shaw, George Pratt

The Flint House - Steady Progress through Consistent on-Site Coordination The knapped flintwork is now nearing completion, giving the building its distinctive texture and grounding. Alongside this, the final window installations are underway, tightening up the façade and bringing more definition to the elevations. The stone banding is also progressing well, forming a strong horizontal line that ties the composition together. It’s a detail that relies on careful setting out and coordination on site, and it’s great to see it coming through as intended. As these elements come together, the overall form of the house is becoming clearer, from the massing through to the finer details that give the building its character. A good stage in the build, where design decisions start to read more clearly on site. Looking forward to sharing further updates as the timber cladding goes on and lightens the appearance. #OBArchitecture #construction #architecture #design #housing #highendresidential #sustainabledesign #Hampshire #UKArchitecture #architects PROJECT TEAM OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Dan Pyzer-Knapp, Jess Armstrong Contractor - King and Drury Construction, James King, James Drury Structural & Civil Engineer - Momentum Structural Engineers Sustainability - SRE Ltd

Wentworth House - Modern Living within a Mature Landscape Set within expansive private grounds and backing onto the West Course, the design looks to balance a sense of formality upon arrival with a more open, relaxed way of living to the rear. The front elevation establishes a clear, composed presence, symmetrical, ordered and grounded in the language of the traditional English mansion. Beyond, the house begins to open up. Curved bays and large areas of glazing draw light into the plan and create a stronger connection to the terraces and mature grounds beyond. Spaces are arranged to frame views out, while maintaining a sense of privacy within the wider estate. Externally, the landscape is designed to extend the living spaces, from more structured arrival zones through to softer, planted areas that support everyday use and longer views across the mature setting. With planning secured, the project presents an opportunity to create a home that feels both established and contemporary, rooted in its setting, but designed for modern living. #OB_London #OBArchitecture #PrimeResidential #LuxuryHomes #Wentworth #Architecture #Design #HighEndResidential #Materiality #UKArchitecture #Placemaking, OB Mountain, Knight Frank, George Pratt, Edward Shaw. The Flint House - Progress Through Collaboration Work continues to move forward on site at The Flint House, with key façade elements now coming together through close coordination between the design and construction teams. Our team has been on site with King & Drury reviewing progress as the final stages of the flintwork, window installation and stone banding advance. Each of these elements relies on a high level of accuracy, particularly the stone banding, which is set out to align precisely with the window positions, leaving very little room for tolerance. It’s at this stage that collaboration really matters. Regular site reviews, open dialogue and shared problem-solving ensure that the detailing developed during design is carried through accurately on site. Alongside the visible progress, more discreet elements such as the integrated rainwater strategy are also being delivered, with downpipes concealed within the wall build-up to maintain the clarity of the elevations. A good snapshot of how thoughtful design and skilled construction come together, and how strong working relationships on site help bring that intent to life. #OBArchitecture #construction #architecture #design #housing #highendresidential #sustainabledesign #Hampshire #UKArchitecture #architects PROJECT TEAM OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Dan Pyzer-Knapp, Ross Galtress Contractor - King and Drury Construction, James King, James Drury Structural & Civil Engineer - Momentum Structural Engineers Sustainability - SRE Ltd

Wentworth Estate - A Rare Opportunity in a World-Class Setting Set within the #WentworthEstate, this site represents a rare opportunity to deliver a new home within one of the UK’s most established and prestigious residential landscapes. With planning permission now granted, the scheme proposes a substantial new home of around 15,700 sqft, carefully arranged to balance generous internal accommodation with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Projects like this are less about scale and more about how a building sits within its setting. The opportunity lies in creating something that feels considered, well-proportioned and grounded in the character of the estate - while delivering the quality and performance expected of a contemporary home at this level. A unique site and a potentially exciting opportunity which we would love to help deliver for the purchaser and end user. #OB_London #OBArchitecture #PrimeResidential #LuxuryHomes #Architecture #Design #Surrey #Wentworth #HighEndResidential #Placemaking #UKArchitecture CGI Visuals - Curated by OB Architecture, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Olly Bray Property Partners - Knight Frank, George Pratt, Edward Shaw

The Hanging Gardens - Living with Landscape in the City The Hanging Gardens explore how residential architecture can soften the city's edge, creating a more natural and human connection between home and street. Set along a prominent street in Belgrade, the scheme is shaped by a series of flowing balconies that extend the living spaces outward. These aren’t just formal gestures; they create usable, planted terraces for each apartment, offering moments of calm and privacy within a dense urban setting. The layering of these elements gives the building its identity. As the balconies step and curve, they introduce depth, shadow and movement across the façade, allowing it to shift throughout the day and seasons. Over time, the planting will further embed the architecture into its setting, bringing a softer, greener character to the street. Inside, this approach enhances the quality of living, with strong visual connections to greenery, access to outdoor space, and a sense of openness that goes beyond the building footprint. Materially, the palette remains simple and grounded. Timber, concrete and glass are brought together with a focus on texture and proportion, balancing contemporary detailing with a more tactile, lived-in feel. Developed through RIBA Stages 0–3, the project reflects an ongoing exploration within OB of how urban living can feel more connected, more generous, and more closely tied to nature. #OBLondon #OBArchitecture #ResidentialArchitecture #Belgrade #Architecture #UrbanLiving #ContemporaryDesign #Materiality #Design #LuxuryApartments OB Architecture - Olly Bray, Toby M Wincer (RIBA), Grant Freeman (RIBA), Ross Galtress
