Parasite and virus dynamics in the honeybee Apis mellifera unicolor on a tropical island recently invaded by Varroa destructor
Abstract
Colonies raised brood permanently all year long. CBPV appeared transiently and has no significant relationship between V. destructor or colony strength. DWV establishment occurred after V. destructor and infestation have a significant effect on virus prevalence and loads. DWV and V. destructor are subject to seasonal variations due to environmental conditions.
