Using “notifications” for random news spam is a dark pattern. None of these were essential notifications, yet there was a persistent red dot in my menu bar until I opened this. C’mon @adobe. I’m already paying you a ludicrous amount every month. Stop spamming me as well.
It used to be clear, but PdM has sucked up large swaths of what was UX Strategy. I think this has also led to more of the “make me a pretty picture, I did the research already” attitude we’ve seen the last. 5-ish+ years.
Sounds like a Wired author is angry that someone is making money on something they don’t deem “good enough”. They have a great future awaiting them as a gatekeeper in a publishing company that’s rapidly moving to irrelevance.
