Something just occurred to me in the category of "experiences I feel are universal but are probably not." So here's a poll!
We're including any kind of tent, but not RVs, campers, or cabins. Open-air camping (with no tent) or with tarp tents counts as tent camping for purposes of this question.
I was just wondering about this myself lately. I went tent camping a TON as a kid with the whole family, usually on land where there weren't any other people around. Lots of red rock canyon landscape and rocky mountains, some western slope rockies where it's mossy and green. I grew up in and continue to live in very outdoorsy regions of the USA, and it's really common for people my age (40's) to have camped quite a lot as kids and continue to camp with their own kids!
But when I asked about it on my Bluesky, most people said they didn't have time and/or wouldn't take their kids camping because it's too rough for them.
