WELCOME TO TRULLI

Our journey begins in 2012 at the heart of Meeniyan, a charming town nestled between the pristine Bunurong marine coastline and the wild beauty of Wilsons Promontory. Inspired by our southern Italian roots, Trulli was born out of a simple love for food, family, and connection.

What started as a humble pizza shop, founded by ex-farmer Francesco Laera and his partner, quickly grew into something more. Driven by memories of Nonna’s kitchen and the joy of shared meals, we expanded into artisan gelato, then a deli and cellar filled with carefully chosen local and Italian delights – the Pantry was born.

In 2018, Francesco’s brother Claudio joined the family business, bringing his own passion and warmth to the table. Together, we’ve kept the spirit of Puglia alive – one dish, one smile, one gathering at a time. When the world paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, we kept moving. Our gelato kitchen became a bakery, and we hit the road with our mobile pizza oven, making sure no one in our community missed out on a good feed and a friendly face.

As life returned, so did we – with an even stronger commitment to South Gippsland’s incredible local produce. We proudly showcase ingredients from nearby growers, winemakers like Dirty Three Wines, and producers of award-winning cheeses and smallgoods in our deli.

And now, with Trulli Outdoors, we’ve created a relaxed open-air dining space – complete with a bar in partnership with Sailors Grave Brewing. It’s a place for families, friends, and even four-legged companions to gather, share stories, and celebrate the joy of good food and drink.
