Can we just like get rid of "vague unstoppable all consuming force of pure evil" as a stock threat. It's the absolute lamest possible source of conflict you can have in your story. I don't even have any sort of principled moral objection to it or anything, I just hate it, it's so boring. It's so big the stakes feel meaningless and the actual threat of failure is essentially absent. It has no motivation or character other than being evil, it instantly vacuums the tension out of a story for me whenever it becomes clear this is what's going on.

#why must beaks be terrible to draw from the front#mouseworld#I kind of like their faces looking like#cartoon plane animal…. a little#almost exact kestrel colors but kind of liveryish#there are very large species in this clade but something I like to think about is since this is from the perspective of mouse-sized guys#the more significant and noteworthy animals would be smaller… like things can become too large to become very interesting or threatening#I want to polish that top sketch actually it’s so cute…
