Documentation
ASU can help get fans to London and more!

Need a passport? Need to update your passport?

The U.S. Passport Acceptance Office at ASU can help you complete and process completed passport applications and forward them to the U.S. Department of State for review. Please note that new or renewed passports can take up to 4-6 weeks to process, but they can be expedited as quickly as 2 weeks.

Don’t wait to check your passport and renew it as soon as you can. Visit https://www.gov.uk/eta to get started.

Sun Devil fans with an American passport traveling to London and throughout the United Kingdom will need to apply for an electronic visa. The application process takes a matter of minutes to complete, and you can be approved in less than 24 hours.

Visit https://www.gov.uk/eta to learn more.

  • Please note that there is a smartphone app you can download and use for your Visa. Sparky highly recommends that.

Getting to London
Book your flights ASAP

If you call the Phoenix-metro area your home, you are fortunate enough to have a direct flight from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to London Heathrow on British Airways.

BA is the only way Sparky flies, and be sure to reserve a lie-flat business class seat for the overnight flight. You’ll wake up rested and ready to hit the city!

Sparky rides the TUBE in London ahead of the Union Jack Classic

Traveling to and from
London Heathrow Airport
There are several options available for
Sun Devils heading to the game

Uber is available for pickup, but if you are staying in central London, the drive could last over 1 hour and could cost between £50 and £150, depending heavily on your destination, traffic, and dynamic surge pricing.

The Tube is your best bet to get directly into the city. There are two lines you can take:

  • The Picadelli Line is an older, more economical option, and it has more stops.
  • The Elizabeth Line is the newest underground line. These cars are bigger, air-conditioned, and this line stops at fewer stations. You can get to the city in less than 40 minutes.
    • Sparky recommends the Elizabeth line!

Packing
This is not your average game in September

Temperatures in and around London average around 66-70 degrees in mid-September, but the temperature can cool quickly once the sun sets (or you’re inside a stadium).

However, the weather can shift frequently, and you’ll want to pack for all environments. This is the ideal time to bring all that fall Sun Devil gear for layering. T-shirts, beanies, scarves, long-sleeve lighter wear, and sweatshirts are all going to serve you well.

Don’t forget, rain is always possible, and a reliable waterproof jacket or umbrella is recommended.

Getting to and from Wembley
Sun Devil fans, you have three options
to take you from your hotel to Wembley

  • You can take an UBER or Black Cab Taxi. These will be your most expensive option, and with traffic, travel time may be longer than anticipated.
  • You can take an above-ground train - express from the Marylebone Train Station directly to Wembley Stadium. The entire trip on the train lasts 15 minutes, with a 5-10 minute walk from the station to the stadium.
  • Sparky’s favorite - take the Tube. It will be packed with fans, and there are two different ways to get there.
    • The Jubilee and Metropolitan lines both take you to the iconic Wembley Park Tube station. You’ll walk down huge stairs and enjoy a 10-minute walk with Wembley’s main entrance right in front of you.
    • You can download this TUBE map to reference
  • You can also take the Tube (Underground) from Waterloo directly to Wembley Stadium on Game Day using the Jubilee Line (gray).
