[OPEN][LOG] Infiltration;
who; Claire and Alice
where; Outskirts of Pueblo
when; November 21st, 2004
rating; um. Swearing. so. Don't read if bad words offend. XD
notes; Opening post. After this, feel free to post whatever. Email transmissions, solo logs, open logs, whateverrrr. Alice can reply to this when she is of the ready, I just wanted this to be the first thread in the comm! XD
It had been a lot easier to get to the outskirts of the village than Claire had been expecting. Outside of some wonky signs and the sounds of villagers in the distance, they hadn't met anything unusual. Considering what they'd been prepped for. (Which hadn't been a hell of a lot. This shit was the un-fucking-known.)
She was glad, at least. If the whole thing could run as smoothly as them not running into anyone or anything hostile, she'd call it good and go home content.
However, when she was going into a remote part of Spain armed to the teeth, (Okay, not technically, but were a fight to break out, she'd be pretty okay) carrying GPS and uplink, with Alice as her partner?
Shit was probably going to hit the fan in various fashions.
And yet you're still here.
Claire frowned, pushing that thought away. Common sense had been optional long ago. Back when she'd had the choice of 'go back to school and forget shit like this happened' or 'fight the good fight.' Now she was too deep in to opt out. Not at least until they could be sure Umbrella was gone for good.
Biting her lip as they came to a stop outside of what looked like the central part of the village (According to the maps Kaplan had been able to supply them with, it was the 'Town Square') she pulled out the digital assistant, checking to see where her vantage point was supposed to be.
Plan was, Claire sets up shop and relays to Kaplan their current status, then she moves on into the Farm area.
Alice was to take the other route.
HOWEVER.
It'd be difficult considering all the villagers milling around. They were far enough down the pathway to the village to avoid detection, but it'd only be a matter of time before they'd be spotted.
And while Claire was a damn sight stealthier than she'd been six years ago, she seriously doubted she could get from where they were standing surveying the village to the house Kaplan had marked off as 'Relay point A' without being seen.
And while the villagers COULD just be harmless Castilians completely unaware of what could be going on just miles away from them...
Well. Taking chances was just kind of stupid.
"...I think Kap forgot to pack our invisibility cloaks." Claire spared a glance in the older woman's direction, hoping at least she had an idea as to how they were supposed to go about this stage of their mission.
They could just skirt the village. Take the woods.
But she wasn't really keen on finding out what types of snakes were indigenous to this region first-hand. Plus, if these people hated outsiders as much as police reports SAID they did, well. Who knows what kind of traps they'd have set up in the underbrush?
