Personality

Pyro is known to be ambitious, hot-headed, and abrasive. He is not afraid to speak his mind, especially when he feels like someone is being disrespectful or unfair. For as determined to become a legend as he, he is just as vanity obsessed, placing a lot of importance on appearances.[6] [8][9]

While he sticks up for other people around him, he also questions them, due to a lack of trust. However, he also cares deeply for his friends, often being the first person to notice if a person is stressed or unwell. Pyro shows a softer side as well, being kind and offering advice on how to go about a situation. He likes to joke around with his friends and is often the person offering ideas on how to best go about a quest. As much as he cares for his friends, he finds it hard to understand how and why some of his fellow students formed romantic connections, the war instead taking up a much higher priority to him.[10][11][12]

Melting Touch For a short period of time, allows the caster to either melt one of Scott's ice creams or light a candle.[14] Shortly after Awakening[14]
  • Heat gathers in your fingertips... touch a soul or light a candle.[15]
  • [Melting an ice cream] Your touch blooms with heat- you melt (#) ice cream(s).
  • [Target POV, melting an ice cream] A searing touch spoils your ice cream... it turns to melted cream.
  • [Lighting a candle] Your heated fingertips light the candle.
  • [Spell ends] Heat slips away from your fingers.
Flame Leap Launches the caster forwards into the air, creating a burst of fire when landing.[16] Upon dragon hatching[17]
  • You step onto a flame that isn't there...
    ...and the air folds hard enough to throw you forwards.
  • [Upon landing] You hit the ground like a falling torch- the fire follows behind you.
Spark Light Launches a spark into the air, which blooms into a colorful firework upon activation[18] For Jojo's magic show
  • Spark Light formed a tiny flame. Cast again to bloom it.
  • [Upon activation] Spark Light blooms upward!
Cinder Crown Creates an area of effect that burns entities inside.[19] After reconnecting with his dragon.[19]
  • You draw a crown from the furnace of your lungs.
  • [Spell ends] Ash drifts where your crown once spun.

History

Backstory

Pyro Dagmeare grew up in Tegrith. He grew up with Scott Borealith, having been friends with him since early childhood. However, Pyro left Tegrith when he was 15, wanting to see what the world had to offer and get out of town. He has not returned to Tegrith since he left all those years ago. He comes to the Academy driven to find the source of the corruption and how to defeat it. [22]

  • The flavor he tastes when eating Scott's magical ice cream is mint-chocolate-chip. Usually though, at the time of consumption, it has become a milkshake.[31]
