Alice was hungry. This wasn't a unique situation by any means--she was usually hungry these days--but right now she was especially hungry. Her stomach was bigger than it had any right to be, her ankles were swollen, she was cranky, and most of all, she was hungry.
Which was why she was waiting on the couch grumpily while Jasper made her food. She had insisted that she would eat absolutely anything in their pantry and/or refrigerator, but no. Jasper had insisted that she eat a proper meal and that he would cook it, and no Alice cookies do not constitute a proper meal.
Which meant that Alice was even more grumpy and had her arms crossed over her enormous stomach and was glowering at the television because it wasn't time for America's Next Top Model yet.
