After approving the budget earlier this month, commissioners met Wednesday in Fort Kent to approve the total assessment.
The budget next goes to a referendum vote on June 6 in each community.
The Maine Teacher of the Year will be chosen later this year from among the 16 county honorees.
The former base provides a better area to drive blokarts — specialized vehicles powered not by engines, but massive sails.
The budget represents a $534,480 increase over the previous year.
