The Gone Machine, the third book in The Machines series, launches October 29th, 2026 as part of The Book Bazaar. You can subscribe now to follow along and get notified when the project goes live!

If you like: Asimov’s robot series, Cargill's Sea of Rust, Newitz's Autonomous, Chambers' A Psalm for the Wild BuiltDetroit: Become HumanSpace SweepersRobocop, or any variety of robotic sci-fi in between, you’ll love this book. Previous titles The Warm Machine and The Lucky Machine are out now.

Best of all, you don’t need to have read either of the books that came before it. This title stands alone!

Sylvan’s cyborg body is broken, his friend is missing, he’s being haunted, and yet a well-known fashion mogul has offered him the business deal of a lifetime. When Sylvan’s ghost turns out to be a digital passenger in his cybernetics, another apparition appears at his doorstep: a familiar looking robot named Fern. Despite forging powerful allies and working diligently to repay his debt of gratitude, Sylvan can’t shake the persistent reminders of his long-lost housebot, Robbie. The ghost has some of Robbie’s memories, but Fern has Robbie’s body… Is it possible one of them is actually Robbie, or are even bots incapable of outrunning death?

Take part in the crowdfunder where we build annually a ridiculous robot, unlock fun digital and BackerKit exclusive goodies, make questionable decisions, and overall have a good time. Plus, enjoy BackerKit exclusive pricing on physical copies of this title.

Coheed fans: this will be your final chance to get a copy of the fan-made Coheed tarot deck!

We're back with it!

Introducing: Cards of the Fence: The Cards Complete

This is a 2nd limited edition print run of the fan-made Cards of the Fence tarot card project we made a few years ago, but with a new added bonus of minor wireframe arcana to match the backs of the cards. I always felt a little sad that we couldn't complete the whole deck, but trying to go back in and make an additional 56 cards would take years. People have jobs and lives and trying to rush through to create 56 more cards would be a massive undertaking, and at the time, 3 years ago, after everything the project went through, I just wanted to see it printed. We made that happen! After 3 years of people begging and badgering me about getting more copies of the decks, I decided... Well, what could a little minor arcana hurt? Proceeds (if there are any) go to the artists so they get paid a second time!

You'll see I'm replacing some traditional suit symbols with Coheed related items, like cups are dragonflies and wand is a quill pen.

If you already have a major arcana deck...

The supplemental minor arcana deck is available to order for those people who already have the major arcana and want a minor arcana to match. It should fit in the same box (that's rated for 78 cards). The cost per piece (before shipping and tariffs) for this 56-card deck without a box is $76.80, so in order to make this supplemental deck, we need to reach 51 orders to make the supplementals. Since I absolutely can't ask for $80 for the supplemental minor deck (c'mon, that's ridiculous), I'm telling folks they can pre-order, and if we don't get close to 50 orders, I'll refund them entirely. It's why you see a quantity of 50 on that listing, so if it goes to 0 or negative, we're good!

This pre-order will run for a month (though I may extend it if we're close but not quite there on some of these) so expect the pre-order period to close out on July 15th, 2026, and hopefully we will begin shipping end of August.

Want one? Here's the link to get either the full or supplemental: https://shop.aimeecozza.com/product/cards-of-the-fence-the-cards-complete-tarot-deck-preorder-reprint/

The Lucky Machine

A Book Bazaar Project Highlight

image

The Lucky Machine comes from an author who likes robots only a normal amount. Follow Inix, a Personal Bot, as she escapes her life of servitude and find refuge in the lower levels. She meets a cyborg named Sylvan and brings hope — and fashion — into his drab and unfortunate circumstances.

And oh! What’s this? A mysterious custom luxury build cyborg named Feint enters the scene. Just what would she be doing in the lower levels!?

I guess we’ll never know…

Unless?

Yes! Unless you check out The Lucky Machine’s wonderful campaign.

Aimee Cozza’s story about a plucky robot is a story of friendship and more. It’s set in the same world as The Warm Machine, but they can be read separately.

And, yes, I am also super excited about this project! I love robots and stories with them. There’s a lot of stories you can tell with robots.

Also, I could say a lot of wonderful things about Aimee. She’s been the wrangling all of us authors to whip The Book Bazaar into launch readiness. She’s kind, knowledgeable, and can tell it how it is without being mean — and that’s a pretty rare trait, honestly.

Check out The Lucky Machine’s campaign here!

The Lucky Machine: A sci-fi friendship story. Coming to Backerkit. The Book Bazaar, November 12th, 2025.ALT

Basically as soon as I finished The Warm Machine people were saying... I want to know more about Inix!

Well, her story is coming in November. While our hero bots Zev and Sterling were off doing their own thing and searching out Root, Inix was making friends in the lower levels. Seems she has a penchant for making friends.

After a life of subservience wrought with extensive memory wipes, personal autonomous android model NX makes the fateful decision to slip from the mid-upper reaches of the city. In the dilapidated lower levels, she meets a talented but disillusioned cyborg named Sylvan who extends to her a temporary place working in his shop. As they sew the bonds of friendship and regain Sylvan's lost passion, NX hones her own unique talents: for optimism, for charm, and for creating. With a little help from some friends – and a bit of luck – NX evades the forces that intend to recapture her or destroy her. The lower levels are easy to get lost in, but can she hide forever?

The Lucky Machine takes place in the same world as The Warm Machine and shares some of its characters, but can be read as a standalone, or as a second installment in a series. This mostly cozy friendship story follows a plucky ace bot on her way to making new friends and finding out where she fits in the world.

Coming to The Book Bazaar November 12th, 2025, The Lucky Machine will be raising funds for hardcover and paperback copies. Oh, and there will also be a paper doll. ;) And hopefully more as the campaign progresses! You can subscribe now to get notified when the campaign launches. I hope you'll join me!

In just 16 days, The Lucky Machine campaign goes live, and you'll get to read Inix's story... A story of perseverance, unwavering optimism, friendship, and identity all in the face of dystopian horrors. I hope you'll join me in bringing this story to life by pledging for an ebook, paperback, or hardcover copy! You can subscribe to get notified when the project goes live on November 12th so you don't miss out on all of the BackerKit exclusive goodies!

Here's what you can expect from this book:

  • Novella - which means it's a short and very consumable read! Sit down to read this and you'll be done in just a few hours... Just like a movie or a couple eps of a TV show. It's about 190 pages
  • Short chapters - I personally enjoy short chapters, so I have purposely written the chapters to be shorter so you can continually keep going "just one more chapter, it's short!" throughout the whole book
  • Sci-fi! - The book is about robots and cyborgs living in a dystopian, capitalistic hellscape. I took all my favorite sci-fi things and mashed them together to create this world
  • 100% human-made content - All of the writing, all of the artwork, the cover, the inside pieces, the schematics, everything is all made by me, edited by a human being, beta read by human beings... You get it! By supporting, you're supporting indies and all the people they support along the way (including the wonderful Rebecca Olivia Hodges who plays Inix for the trailer above!)
  • Standalone - This book takes place in the same universe as my previous novella and shares a few of the same characters, The Warm Machine, but you do NOT need to have read it to jump into this book or this world.

But wait, there's more!

Subscribe to the campaign and back the book and you'll get to enjoy the following:

  • Unhinged updates where I gush about various things, mostly robot related
  • Probably a drawing of a robot or cyborg butt
  • A custom and exclusive paper doll at certain tiers
  • Polls you can vote and comment on to help me make bad fashion decisions for said paper doll
  • Livestream drawing times where you can help me make more terrible fashion decisions
  • BackerKit exclusive rewards like an art book and, if you play your cards right, a collection-exclusive free short story anthology (and more)

Subscribe now to be notified when it goes live on Nov. 12th!
