doctor who - river song - my heart never sleeps

So this fanmix happened today. I regret nothing.

01. Lady Gaga - Bloody Mary
History is such a funny little thing.
She studies all the books about them (thousands of volumes, milions of pages). Some of them say that she’s the woman who murders him. Others that she’s the woman who marries him. She’s either his nemesis or his lover. She’s his killer or his saviour; the reason behind his fall or the reason why he raised so high. History is wrong; she will prove it wrong. She will be what she chooses to be.
Time can be re-written.

love is just a history that they may prove
and when you’re gone I’ll tell them my religion’s you

we are not just art for Michelangelo
to carve
he can’t rewrite the argo of my furied heart.
IIll wait on mountain tops in Paris cold
je ne veux pas mourir toute seule

02. Lovers - My heart never sleeps
Her life has never really made sense.
She’s the child of The TARDIS, the miraculous Human+. She can bend time and space to her will (and she did. And she will). Yet she’s trapped inside her own back-to-front timeline, with ‘your firsts are my lasts’ and ‘spoilers’. The child of time who can’t control her own time stream. Oh, the irony.

and time is passing.
time is dying. time is history.
and in all this time, the clocks’ hands never once reached out for me.

03. Mono - Slimcae girl
Some nights she dreams about her past. Never-ending trainings, guns, a silver eye-patch, stories about The Doctor, her escape, New York
streets, Leadworth, Berlin, the kiss that killed him and the kiss that saved him.
She wakes up with her heart beating madly in her chest and she has to remind herself that Melody Pond is long gone. She chose to
be River Song.

then the words of the song
remind her of those days
sees herself in the face of a stranger
sat in a Station Road Cafe

04. Bugge Wesseltoft - You might say
He yelled at her once (when he was so very young and impatient). He screamed that he’s tired of her little games and of her spoilers, that
he’s tired of her and he wants her out of his life. As soon as the words left his mouth, he apologised and she forgave him. Because she
remembers what it feels like. And she remembers that she screamed the very same words into his face. (When she was so very young and impatient).

you might say that the river has run dry
you might say that we’re living a lie
you might say that we don’t want to try
you might say that it’s over
but i say
please

05. The Guggenheim Grotto - And a tear isn’t such a bad thing
Exceptfor a few stolen (and too brief) moments, she’s alone. The Doctor is The Doctor, flying around the universe with trouble as his most faithful companion. Amy and Rory - they have their new life, their new house and she knows that they’re happy (because she’s Amy and he’s Rory, of course they are happy).
She lives in a small prison cell and her memories are her only companions. But that’s a price she’s willing to pay for stealing time with her loved ones.

To be racing, racing through the night
like a star all alone it’s so hard
racing, racing, never home
ever far from the one who holds your heart
“weep for us, weep for us, little stars.”

06. Sarah Brightman - Deliver me
She remembers everything about Berlin. Her regeneration, shock on her parents’ faces, the kiss, his death. She also remembers how many times he called her River. ‘Who’s River Song?’ she remembers herself asking. He answered her question with a few words whispered in her ear. And she knew she had to save him.
Because he saved her first. He saved her from Melody Pond.

deliver me, out of my sadness.
deliver me, from all of the madness.
deliver me, courage to guide me.
deliver me, strength from inside me.
