OVERVIEW

The Omar K. Lightfoot Senior Recreation Center, 10901 N 56th St., is open Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm.
Make new friends and join a variety of recreational activities. Annual memberships are available, or choose daily fees.

Classes specifically designed to address increased activity, flexibility, balance, and overall fitness for seniors are scheduled throughout the week. Pick up our Monthly Calendar for more opportunities to join in on activities and fun! You can also find out more information about the programs in our Playbook magazine.

Senior Transportation

The Parks and Recreation Division is proud to provide transportation assistance for Temple Terrace residents aged 55 and older who are unable to drive and have no other means of transportation.
With just 48 hours' notice, eligible seniors can schedule a ride in the City’s 10-passenger, wheelchair-accessible van (limited to 3 passengers per trip, one destination per ride).

Approved destinations include:

Medical appointments
Lab and pharmacy visits
Grocery stores within the Temple Terrace city limits

Cost: Just $1 per trip

Other Great Senior Activities

The Omar K. Lightfoot Center offers a variety of fun and enriching activities—many of them free or available for a nominal fee. Regular offerings include:

Parties, celebrations & live entertainment
Educational lectures and info sessions
and so much more!

For those with a sense of adventure, monthly trips are planned to exciting destinations like museums, theaters, and other local attractions. Fees for special events and outings vary depending on the destination.
