Why Submissive Dumbledore?

Born the eldest, the brightest wizard of his generation, left orphaned at 17 and charged with the care of his 15 year old brother and their younger, magically powerful but mentally unstable sister; the burden of responsibility has always been heavy upon the shoulders of Albus Dumbledore.

To be the sole focus of such responsibility, was something that Albus didn't want. Oh, Albus wants to do great things, but he doesn't want to be alone, he doesn't like to be in charge, not only does Albus not trust himself with too much power, but I don't think he cares for it. Albus wishes, wishes for life to be bright and sweet, he'll do what he can to make things that way when needed, but for better and worse, Albus doesn't seek to be authoritative.

Albus Dumbledore's recreational pastimes are the following; chamber music, tenpin bowling, and knitting. Likely his idea of an ideal day is to have time for a quiet walk, or to sit in his office with Fawkes, eating sweets, without being interrupted by any Impending Crisis. Albus is not into competitive sport, that it was noted that Dumbledore especially attended the second Quidditch match after Harry was wounded in the first, indicates that he does not normally attend. While Dumbledore's award of points to Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Nerville, was instrumental to the winning of the housecup for the Gryffindors in Book 1, let it be noted that the Slytherins has been winning and holding the housecup for years and years before.
