The gameplay is great, it's like Backpack Battles but with considerably deeper mechanics. A lot of thought went designing the item grid and its interactions.

Sadly the same love did not go into the assets. This game's AI-gen assets are glaring, devoid of life and any post-generation attention they got was not enough to breath any kind of charm into it.

I'd rather pay more and get an atmosphere with some vision behind it but with the price point where it is and the gameplay being extremely good, I still recommend it. It feels like a cautionary tale of what reliance on AI to generate your assests can do for a game though.

Extremely well made, beautiful game with a novel premise. I did not enjoy playing it at all thanks to the characters, writing, plot, grinding, bloat and quest design but your mileage may vary.

Incredibly difficult, unforgiving. This isn't much of a problem in itself but the frustration, controls and upgrade system ruins it for me which is a shame because it is very true to its 8-bit inspiration. It just takes a little too much with its commitment to stiff controls, sudden deaths and love for arena fights.

I had a brutal and nasty time with it but it clearly want to be this kind of frustratingly difficult so thumbs up for achieving that.

It's a short, fun game. Not deep or replayable, but a nice little thing to clear on a free afternoon.
