Stormships were a class of vessel utilized by the marauder group known as the Nihil. Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro organized for a Stormship to be sent on a Path that intercepted the route taken by the freighter Legacy Run. Ro's actions intentionally caused the Great Hyperspace Disaster, in which the Legacy Run, attempting to avoid the Stormship, came apart in hyperspace.[1]
Behind the scenes
Stormships appeared in the 2021 novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic initiative.[1] Its design was derived from early podracer concept art developed by John Bell for the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace in October, 1995.[2]
