Lafete was an Outer Rim Territories planet that included factories and the Port of Lafete city on its surface. There, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his associate Boba Fett met with the Mandalorian Nite Owls Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves to negotiate a rescue plan of Djarin's foundling, Grogu.

    Description

Lafete was a terrestrial desert planet in the Tunka sector within an intersecting portion of the Outer Rim Territories[3] and the Western Reaches.[2] Situated at the coordinates I-18 on the Standard Galactic Grid,[4] it was connected by hyperspace route to the astronomical objects Eiram and Sump.[8] Lafete had two moons and was home to a number of factories on its surface[5] and the city Port of Lafete.[9]

    History

In 9 ABY,[10] the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his ally Boba Fett visited a local diner, where the Mandalorian Nite Owls Bo-Katan Kryze and Koska Reeves were seated. While Djarin intended to recruit the pair to help him rescue his foundling Grogu from the Imperial Moff Gideon, Fett was skeptical about the two Nite Owls and exchanged insults with them. The argument then led to a brawl between Reeves and Fett until Kryze stopped them both, agreeing to help Djarin with his mission.[5]

The group convened aboard Fett's Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft,[5] Slave I,[11] outside of the diner to plan their mission with the rest of Djarin's allies and their prisoner, the Imperial Doctor Penn Pershing, before they departed to search for Gideon's light cruiser.[5]

    Behind the scenes

Lafete first appeared in "Chapter 16: The Rescue"[5] of Jon Favreau's 2019 Disney+ television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, directed by Peyton Reed and released on December 18, 2020.[12] The world was then identified in the 2021 reference book Star Wars: The Mandalorian Handbook, which was written by Matt Jones.[9]
