First Order Cargo

First Order Cargo, previously known as Black Spire Surplus,[3] was a First Order storage hangar located within Docking Bay 9,[2] which was on Merchant Row[4] in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. Marked by a nearby TIE Echelon, the establishment, operated by the First Order, sold propaganda items to residents and visitors.[2] During the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren landed at Black Spire Outpost, intending to find the Resistance operative Rey. Upon arrival, he strangled one of his officers for incompetence via the Force.[5]

The business was originally founded as Black Spire Surplus, a military supply shop, by two former clone troopers who became close during the Clone Wars, Stacks and Farmer. Though one clone served the Galactic Empire as a stormtrooper, and the other joined the Rebel Alliance, the two eventually reconciled and entered business together on Batuu.[3]

    Behind the scenes

    Concept art of the store

First Order Cargo is one of the stores available in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, where visitors to the park can buy First Order merchandise.[2] Aside from this, it also periodically acts as a live action show area, which depicts Kylo Ren arriving on Batuu in order to track down Rey.[5]

A refresh to Disneyland's version of Galaxy's Edge was announced on January 14, 2026 in which much of the Merchant Row area would be updated on April 29 of that year to change the timeline to the Galactic Civil War as featured in the original trilogy. As such, land theming featuring the First Order-Resistance War, most overtly First Order Cargo, would need updating. The shop received the new name of Black Spire Surplus, and retained its military supply theming, just timeline-appropriate.[3]
