The data visor,[1] also known as Tech's Visor in the context of its usage by the clone commando Tech, was a piece of electronic eyewear that could be attached to a helmet.[2]
Description
A data visor displayed readouts in Aurebesh and could be used as an electronic translator, upon which "TRANSLATION MODE INITIATED" was displayed at the bottom of the visor. The device would then display the language of a target speaker and translate it into Galactic Basic Standard Aurebesh text. Clone commando Tech used the visor to understand and relate the meaning of Poletecan speech to his Clone Force 99 teammates and vice versa.[3] The visor could also be used to scan surroundings. For example, when the clone used it to scan Cid's mine, it resulted in "IPSIUM DETECTED", followed by a list of alternative numerals consisting of dots and lines.[4]
