Castilon gorg

    OnACanonArticle

The Castilon gorgs were a non-sentient subspecies of the amphibious gorg. Bitey was a member of the species.

    Biology and appearance

The Castilon gorg[2] was a non-sentient[1] subspecies of the amphibian gorg. They were considered as a carnivorous creature, often eating large insects and other animals.[2]

    History

Between around 233 BBY and 232 BBY,[5] a Castilon gorg found it's way into a toolbox in Nash's garage where it was discovered by RJ-83. RJ-83 chased the Castilon gorg, but when the Castilon gorg helped clean up the garage, RJ-83 allowed the Castilon gorg to rest in a toolbox.[6] Another Castilon gorg made noise in the dark while Nubs attempted to sleep, which bothered him until he located the Castilon gorg and figured out that by using it as an eye mask with the lights on, he was able to sleep.[7]

In 34 ABY,[8] a Castilon gorg was acquired by the Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono after a deal he made with the merchants Flix and Orka in exchange for starship parts needed to fix his racing starfighter the Fireball. The Castilon gorg was originally planned to be eaten as lunch, but the pair merchants decided to keep the amphibian and named him Bitey.[3]

The Castilon gorg, albeit unidentified, first appeared in the two-episode pilot "The Recruit" of the first season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance,[3] which released on October 7, 2018.[9] The gorg subspecies was later identified in 2022 through a merchandise sold at the real world Creature Stall in the themed-land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.[2] The gorgs were designed by Colas Gauthier.[10]
