December 22 and 23. ^_^
Alright. I'm going to start putting up those trip reports. ^_^ These are going to be kinda long at first and then they'll start to get shorter since I was having computer issues in Tokyo so I didn't get around to actually writing out the days as they happened. Ah well. Here's the 22nd and the 23rd-my flight and first evening in Osaka. (and just to let ya'll know...I wasn't feeling real good during the flight so if you're easily squicked by sick people, be warned.)
Last night, I only got about an hour and a half of sleep. When I got up at 3:00am, I took a shower and then finished packing. Mom and I left the house at about 4:15 to get to the bus. On the way there, I realized that I left a couple of things at home, so I’ll have to buy some stuff when I get to Osaka. We were at the airport pretty early and after I checked my bag, mom and I sat on a bench for a little while so I wouldn't have to be sitting by myself in the terminal for an hour and a half. I eventually walked to the security check point and got through there just fine. Then I got to the terminal and got onto the plane.
I was fine for like the first hour and then I started getting really dizzy and I felt really sick. I tried to sleep, but that didn’t work too well. As we were coming in for our landing, I thought I was going to throw up and I was contemplating apologizing to the guy who was sitting next to me ahead of time, since I really thought I was going to loose it. I managed to breathe and I didn’t throw up.
Once we were on the ground and in the airport, I started up my cell phone and called mom. Through the whole landing, I just kept thinking, “I want to go home." I think mostly I just didn't want to be on the plane anymore. I talked to her for a little bit while I walked through the airport trying to figure out where I was going. I told her about what happened on the plane. She tried to calm me down, but it didn’t really work. I heard something about my flight over the intercom and I very reluctantly got off the phone with her. I went and sat down in the seating area for the flight and took hide and Moon Child out of my big bag and put them into my purse so I could have them at hand on the 11 hour flight to Osaka. My hide plushie came in very handy ’cause I really needed to hug something. Teddy probably would have worked better, but I couldn’t fit him in any of my luggage, so he had to stay home. They started calling boarding passes for the plane and I went up and got in line. As I was standing there, they were calling certain people over the intercom and one of the people they called was named Yuya. ^_^ I was amused by that and naturally, I started looking for him. *Heehee* They also called Yoshiki and Toshi. :-D That got a giggle from me too. Then to top off my jrock name fun, there was a guy who went up who had hair like Die-chan.
I eventually got on the plane and we started to taxi out. It took forever to get in the air! Goddess, you’d think that they had never done it before. We were sitting on the runway for about half an hour. Finally, we took off and I went to sleep. I think one of the reasons why I felt so sick was because I was incredibly tired. I woke up about an hour into the flight and got up to go to the bathroom. I was just coming up to the door when I felt this intense urge to vomit. I made it into the bathroom and crouched down in front of the toilet, but nothing happened. I was really shaky though.
I made my way back to my seat and ended up falling asleep. I was taking cat naps that lasted about an hour a piece. Miraculously, after one nap, I woke up and was actually feeling kind of better. I had the little TV on and it was playing Pirates of the Caribbean. I ended up watching the rest of that when I woke up feeling alive and then I flipped through the channels and came across a show that was kinda like “Candid Camera” and that managed to wake me up even more ‘cause I was laughing at it so much.
I ended up deciding that I could probably have something to drink without feeling sick so I asked for a Sprite. I drank it slowly and I felt fine…until!! I decided to have something to eat too. That was a bad idea. I started feeling sick again and I took another little nap.
I woke up feeling okay and decided to get out my laptop and watch Moon Child and get some files transferred from a cd I made last night. I watched the first hour of Moon Child and then skimmed through the rest. Then it was time to get the cd uploaded. Well, the first cd I put in didn’t register so I put the other one in and went to Media Player and had it search for files. It looked like it was finding a bunch and I ended up letting it work while I went to the bathroom again. I came back and it had found a bunch of files…but none were the ones from my cd. I tried a couple other things and eventually found my files. Unfortunately, they’re all foobared. It’s like it was when I was transferring stuff from my dad’s computer to my laptop and I ended up with every video being half of what it was supposed to be and half Crucify My Love. Well, my mp3’s are all messed up. For instance, it says Mask, but it’s actually Miyavi’s Jingle Bell and then Mask minus the bass part. O_o All of the songs so far are messed up. It’s kind of fun though. I’m sitting here trying to guess what the next part of the song is going to be. I’m also seeing how quickly I can recognize the songs. (The beginning of Rosier just turned into Melty Love.) And that pretty much brings us up to now. (2 hours and 35 minutes ‘till landing. ^_^) And as I look out my window, I see…clouds and sky. I think we’re still over water though. That’s what I saw a little while ago. I shall write about the rest of today after it happens. ^_^ Laters!! One more thing though. Apparently this Rosier/Melty Love combo is actually supposed to by Fuyu Tokyo. *laughs* Laters
Alrighty! I’m currently sitting in Dawn’s room and it’s really insanely early in the morning. So far I’ve been here for a day and a half. ^_^ I’ll finish talking about the plane ride. Eventually, the computer battery wore out while I was in the middle of playing solitare. I shut down the computer and then I listened to my Pierrot cd and eventually I had to get up ‘cause my knees felt like they were going to fall off.
Once we got to Japan, I decided to stare out the window and really enjoy my first glimpse of the country I so desperately wanted to see. It was really amazing to see the coast. There was so much difference in the way the ground looks compared to America. America is flat and static, but Japan had a lot of different textures (I guess would be the word) because of all the mountains. We took a really long, round-about way to get into the airport. We kind of went in a circle and eventually landed. I was very excited and was practically bouncing in my seat. I managed to get my carryon bag down from the overhead and then made my way to the front of the plane so I could get out and into the actual airport. I got onto the little train and that took me to the main airport where I went through quarantine and then filled out a little disembarkation form and got into the line for them to check my papers.
I got through there relatively quickly and went out to the baggage carousel to get my checked bag. Once I had my bag I got into the other line for them to make sure I had the right bag and then I headed out to try to find Dawn. It was relatively easy since she was standing right outside the door and she called my name as I walked out. She was trying to get a picture of me coming out, but I was tired and I still didn’t feel totally well, so I didn’t pause long enough for her to get a picture. We chatted for a moment and then exchanged some of my money ($220). Then we headed outside and it was soooooo warm!!! We bought bus tickets and got on the bus that would take us to Nishinomiya.
When we got there, Dawn had to use the bathroom so we went up the escalator, she went in the train station, I stood outside with all my bags and then as she was trying to come out of the station, her card decided not to let her out since she hadn't gone anywhere so she had to go figure something out. Not long after, she got out of the station and we went downstairs where I met Mama and Cindy (The houseguest from Australia). We piled my bags into the car and then went on to the house.
When we got there, we dragged my bags into the house, Dawn and I went upstairs for a moment and then it was downstairs for us and we had dinner. We had cheese fondue and chicken. It was really good and I could have eaten more, but the cheese went away quickly. I also had my first sip of sake and decided that it tasted like cough syrup. We had sparkling apple wine with dinner and I really liked it. It’s the only wine I’ve ever had that I liked. So that was a plus.
Let’s see…we sat around for a bit and jabbered after dinner was done and then dessert was served. It was the crème puffs that Dawn bought before she left the train station. Those were good, but I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open. I ended up taking out my contacts and that woke me up a little bit, but not enough. So Dawn and I went up to her room and looked at some files that Dawn has on her computer. We talked about some of the things that Dawn’s bought in the last day or so and then I crashed. Literally. I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Apparently, Dawn was in the middle of a sentence when I fell asleep. -_-;; We ended up getting up at about ten and lounging around for a bit. ^_^
And there you have my first days worth of babbling. I'll put up the next day either later today or tomorrow. Laters
